Starting from Square One, Every Time
When challenged with filing a trademark in a foreign country, Murgitroyd’s attorneys would each email local law firms for an itemised estimate, often waiting days or weeks for a response just to be able to share a quote with their client. These quotes would be case-specific, and were neither stored internally nor shared between attorneys. Murgitroyd had no internal records, no way of comparing prices, and no built-in nuance around the different trademark processes from one country to the next. Every international trademark began from square one.

An Email System That Runs Itself and a Chatbot That Speaks to the Results
We built an automated email worker that runs daily, requesting standardised price lists from all international agents on record. When completed price lists come back, AI translates them into structured data and uploads everything to one central database. Agents who don't respond are sent automatic follow-up emails at a reasonable cadence, and direct questions are flagged for human attention. When prices expire, they are renewed automatically via fresh email requests without anybody lifting a finger.
For the attorneys we built a chatbot that they could speak with naturally, with questions like "How much to file in 2 classes in Australia". The AI queries the database, returns the cheapest option, and summarizes alternatives. The system knows which agents are preferred, and intelligently recommends single agents who can handle multiple countries to streamline coordination.
Quotes in Seconds, Not Weeks
Murgitroyd’s attorneys now get answers in seconds instead of waiting days for email responses, which means their clients don't wait either. They can test different scenarios instantly - comparing costs across agents, exploring what happens with more trademark classes, or checking prices for different filing stages. The system ensures that prices never expire with automatic renewal, and every attorney in the firm can access the same up-to-date information that used to live scattered across individual inboxes.
